The three processing methods to make your prototypes

Rapid prototype is the first step to verify the feasibility of a product, and it is the most direct and effective way to find out the defects, deficiencies, and drawbacks of the design. At present, there are many processing methods for the to make prototypes, such as 3D printing, CNC machining, vacuum casting etc. It is necessary to select the appropriate processing way according to the specific requirements of the customer.

1. CNC machining: It is the most commonly used prototype processing method. The processing accuracy is higher than other processing methods. The processed materials are relatively wide. Both plastic and metal materials can be processed. There are high requirements for precision, the accuracy of CNC prototypes is around +/-0.05mm.

2. Vacuum casting: This method is mainly used for small batch processing and the production of rubber prototypes. The production cycle is short and the cost is low, it will shrink and deform a bit though. The quality is relatively not as good as CNC machined parts. Under normal circumstances, the life of the silicon mold is about 15 times.

3.3D printing: The production cycle is short. Leadtime can be within 24 hours at the quickest. Basically the strength is not as good as CNC machining, but cost is lower. If the product's structure is not complex and there is no requirement for its precision, it is recommended to use 3D printing.
