Vacuum Casting

What is Vacuum Casting?

Vacuum casting is a copying technique used for the production of small series of plastic parts.

First a master model is created by using SLA, SLS or CNC machining. Then a mold will be made by castings silicone liquids around the master model under vacuum condition. After curing, cut the silicone model according to parting planes andremove the master part, a cavity is left to fill with materials and form copiesof master model.

Advantages

●Make copy parts in a short lead time

●Cost effective for low volume production

●Large variety of materials available

●Can make threaded inserts and insert molding (over molding) parts

●Colors and hardness can be adjusted
